Terms of Service
Last updated: April 15, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using RunMate ("the Service," "we," "us," "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
RunMate is a product of PixelPath Software Publishing House, a business registered with the Department of Trade and Industry of the Philippines (DTI Business Name No. 8145950).
These Terms apply to all visitors, registered users, and anyone else who accesses or uses the Service. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use RunMate. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate their account.
3. Account Registration
RunMate uses Google OAuth exclusively for account creation and login. By signing in, you authorize us to access your basic Google profile information (name, email address, and profile photo) for the purpose of creating and maintaining your account.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at support@runmateapp.com if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Your Content
You retain ownership of all content you upload to RunMate, including race photos, bib images, medal images, profile photos, and any notes or text you provide ("User Content").
By uploading User Content, you grant RunMate a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to store, display, reproduce, and process your content solely to operate and improve the Service. This license ends when you delete your content or your account.
You represent and warrant that:
- You own or have the necessary rights to the content you upload.
- Your content does not violate any third-party rights, including copyright, trademark, or privacy rights.
- Your content does not contain anything unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms without notice.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use RunMate to:
- Post or upload illegal, harmful, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable content.
- Impersonate any person or entity.
- Attempt to access, tamper with, or use non-public areas of the Service, our servers, or the systems of our service providers.
- Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the Service without our express written permission.
- Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
- Circumvent any technical measures we use to enforce these Terms.
- Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent.
6. Public Profiles and Content Visibility
RunMate allows you to control the visibility of your content. Runs and your profile can be set to public or private. You are solely responsible for determining what you make public.
Public content — including your public profile page, public runs, and podium submissions — can be viewed by anyone with the link, including search engines and social media platforms. We are not responsible for how publicly visible content is shared, indexed, or used by third parties once it is made public.
Your username is automatically assigned during account creation based on your Google profile and cannot be changed. It appears in your public profile URL (e.g., runmateapp.com/u/yourname) and is permanently associated with your account.
7. Groups
RunMate allows users to create and join running groups. By joining a group, you understand and agree that:
- Group leaders and co-leaders can approve, reject, remove, or ban members at their discretion.
- Group leaders and co-leaders can add a group race to your upcoming schedule within the RunMate app on your behalf. This is an in-app action only — RunMate does not register you for any real-world race event or interact with any external registration system.
- Content you share within a group (RSVPs, profile details) is visible to all approved members of that group.
- RunMate is not responsible for disputes between group members or for decisions made by group leaders.
Group leaders are responsible for maintaining a respectful environment within their groups. We reserve the right to disband groups or remove members who violate these Terms.
8. Podium Submissions
RunMate allows users to submit race podium finishes for display on the public Podium Wall. All submissions are subject to review and approval by our team. Submission does not guarantee display. We reserve the right to reject or remove any submission for any reason, including but not limited to inaccurate information, inappropriate content, or inability to verify the claim.
By submitting, you confirm that the information and photo you provide are accurate and that you have the rights to the submitted photo.
9. Run Buddy and GPS
The Run Buddy feature uses your device's GPS to track distance and pace during a run. By using Run Buddy, you grant the Service permission to access your device's location while the feature is active.
GPS-based location data collected during a run is processed on your device and is not stored on our servers. RunMate is not responsible for inaccuracies in GPS tracking due to device limitations, signal loss, or environmental factors.
Running outdoors involves inherent physical risks. RunMate is a software tool and does not provide medical, fitness, or safety advice. You run at your own risk.
10. Pro Subscription and Payments
RunMate offers a Pro subscription tier ("RunMate Pro") with additional features. RunMate Pro is a voluntary subscription to support an independently operated software service. Payment is processed manually via GCash. By submitting a payment request:
- You agree to pay the applicable fee (₱1,499 one-time for Founding Member; ₱499/year for Yearly Pro).
- Your account will be upgraded only after your payment has been verified by our team.
- We reserve the right to reject payment requests that cannot be verified.
Founding Member — Lifetime Access.
The Founding Member plan grants access to RunMate Pro features for the lifetime of the RunMate service. "Lifetime" refers to the operational lifespan of RunMate, not the lifetime of the user. Founding Member slots are limited to 20 and are granted on a first-come, first-served basis upon verified payment. Once all slots are filled, only the Yearly Pro plan is available. In the event the Service is permanently discontinued, no refunds will be issued for Founding Member payments.
Yearly Pro.
Yearly Pro subscriptions expire 12 months from the date of activation. Upon expiry, Pro features are automatically disabled unless renewed. We are not responsible for loss of access to Pro features due to subscription expiry.
Refunds.
We offer a 7-day refund window from the date your account is activated. Refund requests must be sent to support@runmateapp.com within that period. After 7 days, all payments are final. Refunds are issued via GCash to the original sending number.
Feature Changes.
Pro features are provided as described at the time of subscription and may evolve over time. We may add, modify, or remove individual Pro features at our discretion. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes. Removal of a feature does not entitle you to a refund.
Pricing.
We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing at any time. Existing active subscriptions will not be retroactively affected during their current paid period.
11. Third-Party Services
RunMate relies on third-party services to operate, including Supabase, Cloudflare R2, Cloudinary, Vercel, and Google. Your use of the Service is also subject to the terms and privacy policies of these providers. We are not responsible for the practices of any third-party service.
The Service may contain links to external websites or resources. We do not endorse and are not responsible for any content, products, or services on those external sites.
12. Intellectual Property
The RunMate name, logo, branding, design, and software are the property of RunMate and its operators. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or other proprietary materials without our prior written consent.
13. Availability and Modifications
We aim to keep RunMate available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without prior notice and without liability to you.
We may introduce, modify, or discontinue features — including Pro features — at our discretion. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.
14. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be secure, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
We make no warranty regarding the accuracy of race information, event data, or any content created by other users on the platform.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, RunMate and its operators, affiliates, employees, agents, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, loss of profits, or personal injury — arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or ₱1,000, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
16. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless RunMate and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses — including reasonable legal fees — arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
17. Termination
You may stop using RunMate at any time. To request deletion of your account and data, contact us at support@runmateapp.com.
We may suspend or permanently terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, for any reason — including but not limited to violation of these Terms, suspected fraudulent activity, or abuse of the platform. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
We are not liable to you or any third party for termination of access. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply after termination.
18. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Cebu City, Philippines.
19. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and RunMate regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
