If you run in Cebu, 2026 is shaping up to be one of the busiest race years in recent memory. From 5K fun runs at the South Road Properties to 100K ultras up in the mountains, the Cebu running calendar is packed — and it's only April.

January & February — How It Started
The year kicked off strong. January brought the Cebu Marathon on the 11th — the flagship race of the Cebu running calendar — along with the Sinulog Run and the Chugathlon at NUSTAR. February was packed: the Philippine Marathon (a Runrio Philippine Major), the IBP Run for Justice at Parkmall, Dagan sa Carcar Half Marathon, and the NU Cebu Bulldogs Run, among others.

March — Trail Season Opens
March signalled the start of trail season in Cebu. The GRIT Visayas 2026 in Toledo, the Ultramarathon San Francisco, and the G.U.R.L. (Girls in Ultra Running League) multi-day event were highlights. The Trilogy Run Asia Leg 1 on March 22 also drew a strong field. Her Run Cebu on March 7 celebrated women in the sport. A busy month by any measure.
April — Still Running
Mid-April is already done — the Wellness Run and Merlie Miles on the 12th are in the books, and the Iloilo Marathon (a Runrio Philippine Major) wrapped up the same weekend. Here's what's still ahead in April:

The Runrio Earth Day Run on April 26 is always a favourite — expect a big field and a festive atmosphere.
May — Mountain & Bay
May has something for every type of runner. Trail runners have the Minglanilla Trail Ultra Run (May 9–10) and the brutal Osmeña Peak Challenge 50KM Ultramarathon on May 10 — not for the faint of heart. Road runners get the Mami Run 2.0 at Mandani Bay, the Women's Run PH on May 17, the Popeye Run Cebu at Galleria, and the Cantipla Trailfest closing out the month on May 31.

June opens with the multi-day Campo Siete: El Ultimo Valiente trail race in Camp 7 Minglanilla (June 6–7), and the Manila Marathon (Philippine Major) follows on the 7th for those making the trip north. The Runrio Pride Run Cebu on June 14 is a community favourite. The Hunat Sugbu: Dagan Para Ni Maning on June 21 is one to watch — a race with real meaning behind it. The Bandit Ultramarathon North Edition (June 13–14) rounds out the trail offerings for the month.

July — The Big One: Singlife Cebu International Marathon
July is headlined by the Singlife Cebu International Marathon on July 12 — a Runrio Philippine Major and one of the most prestigious races on the Cebu calendar. If you're targeting a marathon PR, this is the one. The Cebu Heritage Tourism Run kicks off the month on July 4, and the Team ADR Cebu North Ultra CN100 (July 25–26) is a serious test for ultra runners.

The highlight of August is undeniable: IRONMAN 70.3 Lapu-Lapu on August 9. Even if you're not racing it, the energy around Mactan on that weekend is electric. Also in August: the Yakult 10-Miler on August 23 (a Cebu classic), the Bohol International Marathon on August 30, and the Davao Marathon (Philippine Major) on August 15 for those heading south.

September — Milo and the Trilogy Finals Build-Up
September means Milo. The Milo Marathon Cebu leg on September 6 is one of the longest-running races in Philippine history and draws thousands of runners every year. The PalawanPay Trilogy Marathon in Mandaue City on September 27 is also a strong field. The One Clark Marathon (Philippine Major) is on September 20 for those travelling.

October brings two marquee races on the same weekend: the Hoka Midnight Run Asia Cebu and the Jpark Mactan International Marathon, both on October 11. Running a race at midnight in Cebu is an experience unlike any other. The IBP Cebu Tricity Marathon on October 25 closes out the month.
